Oliver Cover - Project Lead – Indices, Transparency International UK Defence and Security Programme
Oliver Cover joined Transparency International UK's Defence and Security Programme in May 2011, after working for several years in the insurance industry. He leads on the Government Defence Anti-Corruption Index (GI) and the Defence Companies Anti-Corruption Index (CI).
He is interested in how corruption can be measured and conceptualised, and how corruption indices can be used to inform advocacy and reform efforts.
He has a doctorate from the University of Oxford on the topic of how corruption influences citizens’ political behaviour in countries across the globe, which featured analysis of how British citizens were able to discriminate between corrupt and non-corrupt behaviour. While undertaking his doctorate he taught politics, including topics surrounding corruption and integrity, to undergraduates and visiting students at several Oxford colleges.
